Kelly Harrison, LCMHC-S
Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor
Kelly Harrison is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor (LCMHC-S) for the state of North Carolina. Since 2010, she has had diverse work experience in the academic and clinical setting treating a wide variety of issues. Her clinical experience includes treating the following areas: ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, couples therapy, family therapy, trauma, women’s issues, grief, life transition issues, and matters of faith. She works with adults, couples, and families.
She is passionate about helping couples and families improve communication, rebuild trust, resolve conflict, and co-parent effectively. Often, a break-down in communication leads to individual family members feeling misunderstood, distrustful, and unloved. These things often can be resolved through conjoint couple or family sessions. She approaches therapy from an eclectic perspective, using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Family Systems, and Emotion-Focused Couples Therapy. She also integrates faith-based counseling upon request.
Kelly graduated cum laude with a Master of Arts in Christian Counseling from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in January 2013 and has a bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Tennessee. Kelly is an EMDR Certified Therapist and EMDR Consultant with EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) and a Certified EFT Therapist with the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT). She is a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, North Carolina Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, EMDRIA, ICEEFT, and Psi Chi Honor Society.
She enjoys spending time with her husband and two children traveling, playing games, or attending Carolina Hurricanes games. Kelly also enjoys photography, Pilates, reading, and being in nature.
