Breanna Linn, LCMHC
Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor
Breanna Linn is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in the state of North Carolina. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Play Therapy Certificate in December 2019. She also holds a Master of Arts in Christian Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary (2016). She received a BFA in Studio Art from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in May 2013. Breanna has experience working with preschool children, adolescents, teens, and young adults around a variety of concerns including grief, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and depression.
Breanna understands that the challenges of life often move people away from others into places of isolation and shame. Her passion is walking alongside people in the midst of these places–to hold a space for them that focuses on what they need rather than an agenda–with an ultimate vision of helping clients to pursue life and relationships with renewed vibrancy. Since no two people are the same, Breanna approaches therapy with an eclectic mindset and uses techniques from a variety of modalities based on each client’s unique needs. Her focus on the therapeutic relationship lends itself to a theoretical approach to counseling rooted in Client-Centered Therapy with an emphasis on Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. Breanna may also use mindfulness techniques, Expressive Therapy, and integrated Christian counseling based on the client’s needs and preferences. Breanna knows that children tend to use toys as their words and play as their language. Given this reality, Breanna often employs play therapy modalities including Child-Centered Play Therapy, Gestalt Play Therapy, and Cognitive-Behavioral Play Therapy when working with young clients.
Breanna lives in Raleigh with her husband, two children, and a socially inept German Shepherd. She can most often be found at family living room dance parties, searching for the perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe, painting with watercolors, and exploring outdoors.
